The. Historic Ferryland Museum is housed in a former Bank of Montreal building. The building itself has historic value due to its remarkable difference from other buildings in the area. It has a two-story bay, arched windows, and is topped with a pediment. The original telegraph office was housed in the building and it now contains artifacts related to the history of the area. You can find the museum at NL-10, Ferryland.

Mickeleens Path wanders through forests with visible damage from Hurricane Igor, providing you with stunning views of the ocean and the islands. Fork Restaurant began as a seasonal pop-up restaurant operated out of Judi Devine’s coffee shop after it closed. The brainchild of Chef Kayla O’Brien and her partner Chef Kyle Puddester, they eventually opened up a portion of their home, turning it into a fine-dining destination. The menu includes seasonal fare using local produce and meats. Eventually, the restaurant will serve produce and herbs grown on farmland on their own property. They are located at 52 Cod Seine Cove Road and reservations are required.

Located at 1 Island Cove Road in Bay Bulls, the PondHouse offers classic, comfort food in a family diner setting. The menu includes standard diner fare such as omelets, fish and chips, shrimp tacos, and more. They also serve delicious ice cream concoctions as well. The restaurant is just 15 minutes from Pee Pee Island.

Named for one of Newfoundland’s greatest heroes, Captain William Jackman, The Captain’s Table has been a local favorite for fish and chips since 1988. Captain Jackman was the great-great-grandfather of the owner, Melissa Jackman. Captain Jackman rescued the passengers and crew of a schooner stranded in a storm in 1867, risking his own life to do so. He died tragically at the age of 39 just nine years after earning England’s Royal Humane Society Award. The restaurant in his name offers a wide menu variety as well as some of the best-baked goods in the area. They are located at Southern Shore Highway in Mobile.

The Tetley Tea Room by the Sea, located at 15-25 Pool Road in Ferryland, offers a nice outdoor patio as well as indoor seating. Their menu includes hearty foods like seafood chatter and split pea with ham soups as well as Monte Cristo sandwiches, grilled cheese, fish cakes, cod au gratin, and more. Enjoy traditional homestyle fare while taking in the breathtaking views around you.

One of the best family things to do while visiting the Pee Pee Island area is to catch a glimpse of the whales as they migrate. Whale watching excursions are available from several different licensed captains who will take you out to sea to catch a glimpse of these beautiful creatures.

Because you cannot access Pee Pee Island, you will need to stay on the mainland where there are several bed and breakfast options. Most of the things to do in the area are related to the outdoors. Head to Ferryland to visit the Colony of Avalon, then visit the Ferryland Lighthouse for a picnic lunch. Finish your day with dinner at the Fork Restaurant.

The next day, head out on a charter to get close-up views of the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve and possibly see some whales. Return for lunch at the PondHouse before visiting the Ferryland Museum. End with dinner at the Captain’s Table.

The Shamrock City Pub is a bar and restaurant offering specials throughout the week, including Muggy Monday, Wing Night, and the 3-Course Meal Deal. Pee Pee Island is one of four islands in the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, located just off the Avalon Peninsula. It is home to the largest Atlantic puffin colony in North America as well as several other species of bird. The lighthouse is about 30 minutes from the island.

The Colony of Avalon was established in 1621 by Sir George Calvert, the First Lord Baltimore, and is one of the best-preserved early English sites in North America, providing a look into the past. The archeological dig has unearthed a portion of the Calvert mansion as well as remains of a warehouse, forge, bakery and brewhouse, a cobblestone street, and even a “sea-flushed privy.” Foundations of the buildings are visible and there is a visitor’s center providing a lot of information as well as displays of some of the artifacts found on the site. The site is located at 1 The Pool in Ferryland, about half an hour from Pee Pee Island.
